21st Century After School Program
While working with the After School program with the FNSB School District, I got to teach Art lessons to students as well as engage them in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) projects.
In the spring of 2017, I implemented a "Maker Space" cart for my after school students. It was mostly an experiment to see how the program could be used, especially with a mixed age group. The result: An incredible variety of interests and projects, with less stress on me as a teacher to focus everyone on the same lesson at the same time. Students were able to explore things that interested them, and work in smaller groups to create pieces and be inspired.
I returned to the After School Program fall of 2017 to continue with the Makerspace class. For spring 2018, did both Makerspace and an all-girls Art Club.

Denali Family DayThe 2014-2015 special exhibit at UAMN was "Denali Legacy: 100 Years on the Mountain".
This was the theme of March 2014's Family Day. I developed some small art projects for families to explore what a "Legacy" is, and how the first climbers of Denali recorded their experiences. The exhibit features the original journals of the 1914 climbers, and visitors were welcome to create their own journals, paint their own Denali mountain, and create a logo or stamp that could be passed down as their "legacy" |

I helped organize and arrange some bulletin boards which are displayed in the FNSB School District building in downtown Fairbanks. The black and purple board is upstairs in the Curriculum department, which the Art Center is associated with, and the class set of artwork is displayed on the ground floor in the windows of the Board Room. |
